Born 1963 Nassau to Capt. Leonard & Mary Thompson. Family roots in Abaco and always enjoyed second home in Abaco (currently Mangoes Restaurant in Marsh Harbour). Attended St. Andrews, Florida Air Academy, University of Central Florida.

Introduced to developing of the Out Islands by his father who was the original developer, owner & operator of Treasure Cay. The Thompson family built the still operational Dick Wilson-designed golf course and was instrumental in the development of Treasure Cay Airport.

Family owned and operated Great Abaco Beach Resort & Marina in Marsh Harbour. Chris married college sweetheart Peggy and now has three children. Jade (19) attending Randolph Macon College, Shannon (15) attending The Madeira School in McLean, Va. and Jeffrey DYLAN Thompson attending Forest Heights Academy in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

Following in his father's footsteps, Chris became a commercial pilot in 1986 and opened a private charter company based in Marsh Harbour, Blue Sky Airways.

Chris successfully developed Mahogny Run, Madeira Breeze, Hope Town Hideaways Resort & Marina, Matt Lowe's Cay, and Guana Hideaways Marina. After hurricane Floyd, he spearheaded the Elbow Cay Restoration committee which worked along with Government to restore the island after a catastrophic Category 5 storm.

During that time he began Abaco Marine Construction investing in equipment and learning the dock building business since not one dock survived the hurricane.

Chris always was involved in family land development and sales and opened a real estate office in 1992. He currently has the largest rental propery agency in the area and has been one of the leading brokerage firms for the past decade.

Chris and his family reside in Hope Town at Upalong and still own Hope Town Hideaways Resort & Marina, Guana Hideaways and in partnership with Matt Lowe's Cay & Thurston Bay.

Chris is an avid sailor representing the Bahamas in the Sunfish World's Championship on two occasions - Bermuda & Abaco.

As an active member of Abaco Rage Sailing Syndicate (ARSS), Chris travels with the race crew throughout The Bahamas. He also has a passion for boat building and has several race sloops in the works.

Chris along with teenage son Dylan, surf as often as possible especially to exotic locales.

Spearfishing & deep sea fishing are other hobbies as well as biking and swimming. Abaco living allows a great balance for family, outdoor activities and work.
